In KinderConnect a photo is tagged to specific children, and it appears in the feed of those children's guardians. A parent sees their own child. Nobody has to remember who consented to what, because consent is recorded against the child and travels with the media.

Every media item is linked to the children it shows. Distribution follows from the tags — there is no way to accidentally broadcast a photo to the whole facility.

Why it matters
GDPR-safe by construction, not by discipline
The safest system is one where the unsafe action isn't available. Because distribution is derived from child tags rather than chosen per upload, a staff member cannot accidentally send one family's photos to another — regardless of how rushed the end of the day is.
The moments parents actually miss
Working parents miss the ordinary parts of the day: the first attempt at a puzzle, the friendship that formed at the sand table. A tagged photo feed gives them those without asking educators to write a paragraph about it — a picture at the right moment does more than a report at the end of the day.

Can one family accidentally see another child's photos?

How is image consent handled?

Can we share video as well as photos?
Yes. Both photos and short video are supported, viewed in a lightbox in the parent app.
What about group photos where every child appears?
Tag each child who appears — the selector supports selecting a whole group at once. A dedicated untagged group-photo mode is on the roadmap rather than shipped, because per-child tagging is the right default for a parent feed.
Do parents get notified when new photos arrive?
Yes, by push notification — and parents can turn media notifications on or off independently of other notification types.
Can parents download or save photos?
Parents view media in their child's feed and can save moments from their own child's timeline, including through the native share sheet on mobile.
Is there a storage limit on photos?
Media is stored per organisation without a per-account cap advertised. If you are planning very heavy video use, talk to us about it first.
How long do photos stay available?
They remain in the child's feed for the life of the organisation account, which turns the feed into a record of the year rather than a stream that scrolls away.
Can staff review photos before parents see them?
Media is published to the tagged children's guardians when uploaded. A separate approval queue before release is not part of the current model.
What if a parent refuses photo consent?
Record it in the consents register. The consent status lives on the child, so the position is documented and available at the moment it is relied on rather than depending on someone's memory.
Can we share video of a whole group event?
Yes — tag the children who appear, and the selector supports selecting an entire group at once.
