Multi-Language Support for Staff & Families
The interface in the family's own language — including Ukrainian and Polish — with each user choosing their own, independently of the facility.
European childcare is multilingual in a way the software serving it usually isn't. A single Polish kindergarten may have Polish staff, Ukrainian families, and an English-speaking parent, and the market-leading platforms offer that facility a choice of English or Spanish.
In KinderConnect language is a per-user setting. A Ukrainian mother reads the app in Ukrainian while the teacher writing the update reads it in Polish — no separate installation, no facility-wide compromise.
What is included
Per-user language selection
Each person chooses their own language, so one facility serves families who share no common one.
Ukrainian and Polish
Both are fully supported — a practical necessity for facilities across Central Europe that US-built platforms don't address.
Language picker before sign-in
The choice is available on the login screen, so a parent isn't required to navigate an unfamiliar language to reach the setting that fixes it.
European locale coverage
German, French, Spanish, and Russian alongside English, Polish, and Ukrainian — with the interface following the user rather than the region.
Why it matters
Reaching the parents hardest to reach
The families who most need clear communication from a nursery are often those least comfortable in the local language — and they are the ones who miss notices, misread invoices, and disengage. An interface in their own language is the cheapest reachable improvement to that problem.
Where US platforms stop
Brightwheel offers English and Spanish. Procare and Lillio are North-America-scoped. For a European facility this isn't a minor gap in polish — it's the difference between a platform your families can use and one only your office staff can.
Frequently asked questions
Which languages are supported?
English, Polish, Ukrainian, German, French, Spanish, and Russian — seven languages, chosen for the European markets we actually serve rather than for the length of the list.
Can each parent choose their own language?
Yes. Language is a per-user setting, not a facility-wide one, so a Ukrainian mother reads the app in Ukrainian while the teacher writing the update reads it in Polish.
Is Ukrainian fully supported?
Yes, and it was a deliberate priority. For facilities across Central Europe serving Ukrainian families, this is the difference between a platform parents can use and one only the office can.
Can a parent change language before signing in?
Yes. The picker is on the login screen, so a parent is not required to navigate an unfamiliar language to reach the setting that fixes it.
Are messages between staff and parents translated?
No. The interface is translated; what a person types is delivered as written. Automatic translation of free text between staff and families is not something we do.
How does this compare with Brightwheel or Procare?
Brightwheel offers English and Spanish. Procare and Lillio are scoped to North America. For a European facility that is not a gap in polish — it is a different product category.
Is the whole interface translated?
The parent-facing surface and core staff screens are translated first; deeper administrative screens fall back to English in some locales while coverage is completed.
Do staff and parents have to use the same language?
No. Each person's choice is independent, which is the entire point.
Can we add a language that is not on the list?
The translation layer is straightforward to extend. Get in touch if your families need a language we do not yet cover.
Does changing language affect invoices or documents?
Interface language follows the user. Invoice content follows the legal and tax requirements of your jurisdiction, which are not a matter of user preference.
